The birthstone for November is topaz.
The gemstone topaz has long been treasured as a symbol of deep and enduring love and affection. The Ancient Greeks called it the "Stone of Strength". In medieval times, topaz was thought to heal physical and mental disorders.
Topaz gemstones can be found in a variety of colours, including light to medium blue, yellow, pink, gold, green, red and brown. Topaz with orange-red and pink colours are rare and most valuable.
